Most people underestimate Janet Jackson’s influence on contemporary Pop/R&B music. Rhythm Nation 1814 was released in 1989 and was instrumental in cementing Janet’s place on the podium next to her superstar brother, Michael. Part of Jackson’s Rhythm Nation 1814 FILM, this music video was iconic at the time and was undeniably the inspiration behind Beyoncé’s much discussed 2016 Superbowl performance.
This week’s hump day tune is from London based Electronic producer Hugh Pescod aka Redlight. This is a smooth track with just the right amount of kick to get you through the first week of 2017 🙂
The vibe at this performance is crazy! Alicia Keys is one of my all time favourite artists. The soul and honesty she brings to her sound is incredible. And let’s not forget she slays the keyboard every time she performs.
